HomeNetWise

Editorial Policy

This policy explains how HomeNetWise creates, reviews, updates, and corrects technical content.

Our editorial goal

We want each guide to answer a real networking question clearly and practically. We prioritize useful troubleshooting steps, transparent assumptions, and information that helps a reader make a decision.

Sources and verification

Depending on the topic, we may use networking standards, manufacturer documentation, product manuals, operating-system documentation, reputable technical references, and direct testing. We avoid treating a single marketing claim as proof of real-world performance.

Hands-on testing

When we have directly tested a device, configuration, or procedure, we aim to explain the relevant environment and limitations. We do not present sourced or simulated information as hands-on testing.

Calculators and estimates

HomeNetWise calculators are planning tools. They intentionally use stated assumptions and conservative estimates where appropriate. They are not substitutes for a professional wireless site survey, ISP service-level guarantee, or controlled laboratory measurement.

Use of AI-assisted tools

We may use software and AI-assisted tools to support research organization, drafting, editing, coding, or quality checks. Published technical claims, calculations, and recommendations remain subject to human review and should be supported by appropriate reasoning or sources.

Updates and corrections

Articles may be updated when standards change, products or interfaces change, or we identify a clearer explanation. Readers can report potential errors through the Contact page.

Affiliate and sponsored content

If HomeNetWise uses affiliate links or publishes sponsored material, those relationships should be disclosed. Payment or affiliate eligibility does not guarantee a positive conclusion or recommendation.
