HomeNetWise is an independent educational website focused on practical home Wi-Fi and networking. Our goal is to help people understand what is happening on their network, diagnose common problems, and make better decisions before buying new hardware or upgrading an internet plan.
What we cover
HomeNetWise publishes troubleshooting guides, explainers, calculators, and planning tools covering topics such as Wi-Fi coverage, mesh networking, router placement, Ethernet, internet speed, wireless bands, and common connectivity problems.
How we approach technical guidance
We aim to separate what can be measured from what can only be estimated. When an article contains a calculation or planning estimate, we explain the assumptions and limitations. When we perform hands-on testing, we describe the test conditions. When guidance is based on standards, vendor documentation, or other external references, we distinguish that from direct testing.
Why HomeNetWise uses calculators
Many home-networking questions do not have one universal answer. A speed requirement, mesh-node count, or Wi-Fi coverage estimate depends on multiple inputs. Our calculators are designed to provide a transparent starting point rather than pretend that a planning estimate is a guaranteed result.
Corrections and updates
Networking technology changes. We review important guides when standards, device capabilities, or best practices change. If you find a technical error or an explanation that needs clarification, contact us so we can review it.
Commercial independence
HomeNetWise may eventually use advertising, affiliate links, sponsorships, or other forms of monetization. Commercial relationships do not determine the technical conclusions of our guides. If a page contains affiliate or sponsored content, it should be disclosed clearly.
